There are so many ways to get involved in the life of the church! We invite you to participate in a music group, help with Sunday School, serve as a greeter, or serve as a layreader. God uses a broad range of talents, ages, and different levels of time commitment. Another way to get involved in our church is to work on one of our committees. Our committees usually meet once a month. If you are interested in finding out more about a particular committee and its mission, contact the elder or attend one of the meetings to see if you would like to join. We welcome your creative ideas, suggestions, and constructive comments in all aspects of our church life. With just a small amount of time, you can make a world of difference in how our church family and worship experience all come together.
Committees and their purposes
Administrative Support (CAP) Ministry
CAP provides for the personnel and committee management of the church.
Discipleship Ministry
The Discipleship Committee invites, encourages, and helps all those who pass through our doors to become a more mature disciple of Jesus Christ. The committee provides support not only for adults, but also for children and youth to help them grow in their faith so that they can spread the good news of Christ through acts of compassion as they devote their lives to God.
Worship and Music Ministry
The Worship and Music Commtitee provides spiritually uplifting celebrations to the Glory of God in a warm and welcoming environment where the Christian scriptures are heard, proclaimed and affirmed.
Mission Ministry
The Mission Committee provides spiritual outreach to people in need on a local, national, or international level; participates in a variety of activities, including projects in local and national relief as well as charitable programs and activities; aid to community hunger and housing; aid to foreign missions and missionaries; evangelism/spiritual outreach; assists other Summit church groups and misssions.
Church Property Ministry
The Property Committee provides for the maintenance of the church's grounds and facilities.
Outreach Ministry
The Outreach Committee reaches out to our community in Christian love in several ways including: the website, providing information about worship services on our church sign, providing visitor gifts, overseeing church advertising, and updating the Facebook page. Our goal is to reach out to the community and build our family of believers.
Fellowship Ministry
The Fellowship Committee provides emotional and spiritual support of the congregation, provides opportunities for social interaction among the congregation, enables our community to learn about Summit's mission and ministries; provides opportunities to welcome our community into fellowship and worship; embraces guests visiting our church.
Church Finance Ministry
The Church Finance Committee provides for the financial management of the church, stimulates spiritual growth through the sharing of God's gifts of time, talent and finances.
